COMPOSITIONS - April 11 - May 9, 2008
The premiere solo exhibition of photographs by Fernando Delgado. The Compositions series, is a meditation on form, light and space inspired by the sculptures of Louise Nevelson.

The three categories in the show– White, Black, and Color – employ a precise, formal economy – a deliberate restraint of detail – to generate powerful tensions and balances. Generally, the subjects in the Compositions series are vintage ceramic forms of the 1940s and 1950s. Through rigorous arrangement, cropping and camera angle, they are reinterpreted in the photographer's unique vision.

REVIEWS:
If you have an appreciation for fine art photography, this show is a must see.

Fernando Delgado's lifetime flirtation with photography comes to fruition in his first solo show.
—The Albuquerque Journal

The images are restrained and formal, masculine and feminine; the subjects are unknowable, elegant abstractions.
—Gallery News, KHFM Radio

The shadings and lines of the form exist in just the right atmosphere and combination to produce a musicality and complexity that, however abstract, still suggest a monumental architecture...
